After looking at more of the mods to this car I changed my mind. This is a hot piece of automotive a**. I was blown away by all of the neon you fit in this car. You must have to change the battery once a week with all the streetglow, amps, strobes, dvd players and all the other whack sh** you have in there. The daytime exterior photos don't really do justice to it. Excellent job. I am envious. P.S. I'm 17 and I love this thing. F**k that "old-guy" non-sense. When they added the new turbo, that was because it was underpowered and people wanted a faster decent engine but not to be a real race car. The pt's engine bay cant even fit a V-6 without a major redesign done to it. The PT is too small and too heavy to be a race car, but a car for show, YES. They made the PT's sister car(SRT-4)to be the pocket rocket cause its more lighter than the pt and Dodge promotes "SPEED". Just think about it, DC made the prowler-success PT Cruiser-big risk but success 300C and Magnum- Great success SRT-4--Success too, even the Pacifica a success, If the Pt was made to be a racing car, DC would have brought those PT cruiser concept cars to reality if everyone would of thought like you about the PT? Right? WRONG!!.FOR ex: the new cadillac XLR(corvette chassis/same engine),why did GM build this sister corvette? that is because that is a Luxurious corvette just called cadillac XLR.If you want a racing car from them stick to corvette because its stats are higher than the XLR anyway. Every autocompany has its standard/racing brand then its luxury brand of cars like Ford/lincoln or Dodge/Chrysler or say chevy/cadillac. If you want a racing style car from DC, stick to DODGE not Chrysler because they are luxury cars with fast engines which lean much more for show. Real sports cars are coupe style anyway and have V6's or bigger. You are right, Prowler isnt a racing car but more for show to be taken out on sunday afternoons but it has the power if anyone wanted to race it. I dont care what anyone says about that, its true. SO, you are fixing an american luxury PT cruiser to be a ricer with your Supra engine in it!! WHAT?? Stick to imports for that. I never considered buying a PT until I drove one last year. That was all that it took. I have had it 10 months and put 20K miles on it. This has been the best car all around car that I have ever owned. It is not as fast as my old Contour V6/5spd, but it also doesn't stay in the shop for repairs like it did. It doesn't handle corners @ 100 mph like my Accord w/ Tokicos & Eibachs did, but it can with the right upgrades. It doesn't have the torque of my pickup truck, but it does hold lots of cargo, keeps it dry, and gets 29 mpg on the highway with regular gas. You guys all should be lined up and publically executed. We live in a world of technology, there ARE replacements for displacement! take about three months' ago super street for example. a 2.0 liter strait four celica pushing 1000bhp at the wheels. 1000 yes i didnt add an extra zero, its the truth, four cylinders can have the power, you just have to put the cash under the hood. I personally have been working with a 98 integra gsr for a few years and have around 350hp @ 7500rpm at the wheels and about 200 lp ft of torque. torque will just roast your tires at the line short stroke and high r's get you down the tarmac. A good friend of mine named Daniel Markley has an ElCamino with a fat 350 or a stroker or some crap like that, he doent have a positrac rear end. he pulls up next to me a a stoplight with one of his friends and a camera and asks if I want to race. So I said sure and when the light turned green I dropped my clutch, chirped the tires and off I went. He on the other hand broke his rear right tire loose and sat for a second toasting his tires. I kicked his ass! I guess what im trying to say is that the day of ramming fuel and air into huge combustion chambers is over. its time to make way for the riceburners boys. Except for the grill and the bumpers the basic styling of the PT is way cool already, and I won't mess with mine. I never found what model-year yours is, but for the 2002 model, they have added a bit to the stock engine, plus the 5-speed manuals seem to have a little extra zip. I've done planty in mine.
